Sober Girlfriends Book Club – Live Naked Alcohol Free by Annie Grace

Each month, we’ll feature a thoughtfully chosen book to support you on this beautiful after-alcohol journey. Our selections will span quit-lit, recovery memoirs, personal development, addiction fiction, and other inspiring, life-giving reads. Leading you through this reading journey will be Ellen who came to Kindred Spirits wanting more connection with other women and a purpose to share our stories though the day to day life of being alcohol free.
We’ll read one book over each four-week period, giving us time to reflect, discuss, and truly absorb the message. Those of us living alcohol-free know that connection is essential—not just for getting sober, but for staying sober. It’s in community that we grow, gain clarity, and give ourselves permission to dream boldly again.
This months read is Live Naked Alcohol Free.
We will continue reviewing from March Live Naked AF, such an excellent book that needs further conversation.
Wait, whaaatt??? Yes, you read that right. You do not have to be alcohol free to live naked alcohol free. Its a way of thinking – the desire to be free from alcohol. It does not mean sober (unless that’s what you want). Instead, it simply means working toward a life of FREEDOM.
From Annie Grace: This book is about the three things I desperately needed back then but didn’t have:
An insurance policy against going back. Because the fear of relapse haunted me, and I needed tools that would actually protect the freedom I’d fought so hard to find.
A path to reconnect with myself. Because somewhere in all those years of drinking, I’d lost touch with who I really was. My authentic self was buried under layers of habits, excuses, and fear.
A way to rebuild the relationships that drinking had damaged. Because healing isn’t just a solo journey—it’s about restoring the connections that matter most. I love Annie Grace and I know you will too!
Haven’t read the book? No worries, come and discover new friends and what we have instore for the following month.
