Many people are familiar with turmeric and its anti-inflammatory properties and vibrant color. Its most active compound, curcumin, has many proven health benefits. We’ve also included freshly ground black pepper in the formula to activate the healing properties of turmeric.
Turmeric has a long history of medicinal uses. For over 4,000 years predominantly in Ayurveda, as well as in the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Aurum is rich in the healing benefits of whole grapefruits and lemons. We brew this formula using whole fruits. The peel of citrus fruits contains one of the highest concentrations of pectin – a type of soluble fiber, along with valuable antioxidants and vitamins.
Peel can contain as much as five to ten times the nutritional value as the fruit itself, though it does come with a bitter flavor. Bitter is a flavor that most people in the West have not grown up with and not yet developed a taste for.
Bitter foods and flavors are known to help aid digestion, nutrient absorption, immunity stimulation, and can even help reduce sugar cravings.
We’ve also added the nutritive elements of fennel and fenugreek. Both of these herbs are commonly known to aid digestion, and also have numerous anti-inflammatory and medicinal properties.
One of our favorite additions growing in popularity are Juniper berries. The extracts of Juniper berries are documented to have antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties. Juniper is widely used in traditional spirit distillation. Its berries are the base of gin, and can provide a lovely woody note to any beverage.
We love creating complex flavor profiles that enable a multidimensional and healthful drinking experience. Our goal with Aurum was to create a base that would satisfy the palette of those who crave or enjoy traditional spirits, while not attempting to replicate.
