You asked, we listened. We’ve created a premium, super smooth New Zealand Premium Red Wine…without the alcohol! Now introducing the fourth wine in our non-alcoholic Giesen range. We’re proud to present this smooth, full-bodied New Zealand Premium Red (Merlot) with the alcohol gently removed.

How does it taste? Expect delicate aromas of crushed blackberry and wild herbs in this dealcoholized Premium Red Blend. Crushed red berries and plum offset by toasted oak on the palate combine to give a light and refreshing option with classic structure and fine, powdery tannins on the finish.

Award Winning Non Alcoholic Wine: Our Giesen Red Merlot has been recognized around the world, picking up accolades at a number of extremely prestigious award ceremonies. These include the Global Low & No Alcohol Wine Masters in the UK, the Mundus Vini Non Alcoholic Wine Competition, and the Melbourne International Wine Competition in Australia. We were also very proud to be awarded a Gold Medal at the highly regarded International Wine and Spirit Competition.

But is it Wine? We want our non-alcoholic options to give you everything you’d expect from a premium New Zealand wine. So we go through the entire winemaking process, before we gently remove the alcohol. Here’s how we make alcohol-removed wine. Using innovative spinning cone technology popular in perfume-making, we separate the wine into three parts: alcohol, aroma, and body. We leave the alcohol behind, recombine the aroma and body, and add just a touch of premium grape juice to balance the final blend. This advanced form of distillation allows us to handle the wine gently, maintaining the integrity of our distinctive flavor palate and texture throughout the process.
Did you know? The guidelines for what counts as “wine” relate to how the product is made, rather than whether there is any alcohol content! So, because we ferment our grapes first, yes – Giesen is still classed as a wine. That’s how we get such a varietally expressive end product!
